GI-Map Gut Microbiome Stool Test

Please read the instructions in advance so you are informed on how to prepare for and collect your sample.

2 Weeks before the GI-Map test: Where possible, stop taking antibiotics and antifungal drugs.

3 Days before the GI-Map test: Stop taking oral castor oil, probiotics, laxatives, aspirin or ibuprofen. Also cease taking all gut-associated supplements like pre and probiotics, digestive enzymes, liver support supplements, and amino acids.

2 Days before the GI-Map test: Follow your normal diet, including the following foods if possible: meat, fish, poultry, vegetables (raw and cooked,) carbohydrates (potatoes, rice, pasta, bread,) fats (butter, margarine or oils.)

If you do not eat these foods, no problem. Just try to eat a broad range of your typical diet.

Vegetarians and vegans, eat your normal diet.

DO NOT discontinue taking prescription medications unless directed by your physician.

1. Mark your calendar to collect your sample for a Monday morning. Please note that collection of a specimen must be on a Monday morning and be shipped back to the lab same day as the test kit needs arrive at the lab in the USA before they close on Friday.

2. Please notify us a minimum 72 hours in advance the date you will collect and return your specimen and test kit to the lab so we can arrange for a FedEx pickup or drop off for you and ensure there are no public holidays that could disrupt shipping or create delays.

Note: Collection must be on a Monday morning to ensure and shipped back to the lab in the USA the same day to ensure enough time back to the lab by Friday. 

On the morning of your collection: Follow the instructions inside the kit to complete your stool sample by collecting a small amount of stool from your first morning bowel motion on a Monday morning.

Please keep your completed sample in the fridge until you are ready to ship it back to the lab.

1) Collect Your Sample on a Monday Morning

Ensure your stool sample is collected on a Monday morning to allow sufficient time for the sample to reach the lab in the USA within the same week.

2) Check for Public Holidays

Verify any public holidays in your country and the USA (where the lab is located) to avoid shipping delays or lab closures.

3) Prepare for Shipping

Use the FedEx Clinical Pack provided inside your test kit to safely package your sample.

Complete all required forms in the test kit and include them in the shipment.

4) Arrange FedEx Courier Service

Call your local FedEx to schedule a courier pickup or drop off the package at your nearest FedEx location.

5) Notify Us

Send us your tracking number and inform us when the sample was shipped so we can monitor its delivery and follow up with the lab if needed.

By following these steps, your sample will arrive at the lab in optimal condition for accurate testing!

What if I have irregular bowel movements? I'm afraid I won't be able to collect on a Monday.

If you are prone to constipation or concerned you won’t have a bowel movement in the morning we recommend soaking 1 tablespoon of chia seeds in a glass of water and let it soak for an hour and consume before bed or supplementing with 300-600mg Magnesium Citrate and this can help produce a bowel motion the next day.

Does the Price of the Test Include a Consultation / Lab Analysis?

No. The price of the test kit excludes analysis of the test. You’re welcome to book work with our team to analyze your test results and receive a custom protocol to rebalance your gut!

Refund Policy: Lab test kits are non-refundable. We are unable to accept returns or offer refunds once the test kit has been shipped. If you have any concerns or questions before purchasing, please reach out to us for further clarification.

Retesting Policy: The labs we partner with strive to ensure accurate and reliable lab results for every client. However, in rare cases where a sample is deemed invalid due to factors beyond our control (e.g., improper collection, contamination, or insufficient sample quantity), retesting may be necessary.

Clients will be promptly informed if their sample is determined to be invalid and requires retesting the client is responsible for a $50 USD fee + shipping for a new test kit.
