-
What types of advanced lab testing do you offer? We offer a variety of advanced lab testing to identify the underlying root cause imbalances behind your health concerns. From bio-individual and comprehensive bloodwork to functional lab tests, including GI-Map, Organic Acids Test (OAT), Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), SIBO testing, Mold Mycotoxin test, Environmental Toxin Tests, Vaginal Microbiome Testing, and comprehensive hormone testing (sex hormones, thyroid, adrenal). We also help facilitate any recommended blood work at your local LabCorp for a wide range of biomarkers.
-
What is Functional Lab testing?Functional lab testing goes beyond standard medical tests to provide a deeper look at how your body’s systems are functioning. These tests are used to assess areas like gut health, hormone balance, nutrient levels, toxin exposure, and more. By analyzing markers in stool, urine, saliva, hair, and blood, functional labs help identify imbalances and underlying issues that may be affecting your overall well-being. They are often used in wellness and holistic health settings to create personalized wellness plans tailored to your body's unique needs.
-
What is Bioindividual Bloodwork Analysis? It's a personalized approach to understanding your blood test results, focusing on optimal health versus simply identifying disease. Unlike conventional blood tests that rely on standard reference ranges, which are often based on averages from a broad population, bioindividual analysis looks at optimal ranges specific to your unique physiology and wellness goals. These optimal ranges are often narrower and designed to reflect what’s ideal for maintaining peak health, vitality, and function, rather than just preventing illness. This approach helps identify subtle imbalances before they lead to more significant health concerns, allowing for a more proactive and personalized wellness strategy.
-
Is lab testing included in my membership or an additional price?Lab testing is not included in your membership and is priced separately. Recommendations for testing are tailored to each individual’s specific case and health needs. We will always recommend testing in order of priority to respect your budget. The average member spends $400-$1000 on initial testing and retesting at the end of your protocol to assess progress is optional to the client for an additional fee.
-
Where and how can I complete my testing? We help you access the testing you need, without the hassle. Functional Labs: You can complete functional lab testing from the comfort of your home, with tests delivered directly to your door for convenience. Examples of these tests include GI-Map, Organic Acids Test (OAT), and SIBO testing, among others. Upon purchase of your lab test kit, you will receive an email with instructions for how to prepare, complete and return ship your lab. Bloodwork: For blood work, you can visit your nearest LabCorp location, where you can have your samples collected and processed. Upon purchase of any bloodwork panel, you will receive an email with instructions for how to prepare and where to draw your bloodwork.
-
How long does it take to get my results? For functional lab testing, you can expect results within up to 3 weeks from when the lab receives your sample. Blood testing results are typically available within a week. You will be notified once all of your results are ready, and your Integrative Health Practitioner will review them with you during your next consultation.
-
What if I have done testing with my General Practitioner or another practitioner? You’re welcome to upload any previous test results into your Her Health Hub portal for your Integrative Health Practitioner (IHP) to review before your consultation. However, it’s important to note that not all testing is the same. While older tests from several months or even years ago can be useful for tracking progress, they may not accurately reflect your current state of health. In some cases, retesting or additional testing may be recommended to provide the most relevant information for your wellness plan.
-
Are lab tests covered by insurance? No. Most insurance companies consider functional lab tests (such as stool, urine, hair, and saliva) to be for "wellness purposes" only, and therefore are not always covered. We are unable to direct bill to your insurance. Blood tests may or may not be covered, depending on your plan. You’re welcome to submit your receipts to your insurance for reimbursement, but coverage varies by provider, and we cannot guarantee reimbursement.
-
Do I need to do testing? No, testing is not required. While it can be helpful for gaining deeper insights into your health and remove a lot of the guesswork when it comes to your health to fastrack your results, we also offer comprehensive wellness and symptom assessments that can also provide valuable information without the need for lab tests.
-
Where do I get my supplements? To ensure quality and optimal results, we collaborate with several therapeutic, functional medicine supplement brands from the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. We can assist you in ordering these supplements and have them drop-shipped directly to your door for your convenience.
-
Are supplements included in my membership fee?No, supplements are not included in your membership fee and are available at an additional price.
-
Are supplements covered by insurance? No, supplements are typically not covered by insurance since they are considered for wellness purposes. However, coverage may vary depending on your specific plan, so it's best to check with your insurance provider for details.
-
Do you offer/prescribe prescription drugs? No. As a health and wellness virtual clinic, we focus solely on natural medicines such as herbs, nutraceuticals, vitamins, and mineral therapies etc. For any prescription medications you may need, we recommend working with your GP or a licensed healthcare provider.
-
Can I still work with you if I don't want to take supplements?Yes. While supplements can be beneficial for addressing nutrient deficiencies and supporting various body systems, we understand that they may not be suitable for everyone. If you prefer not to take supplements, we will focus your wellness plan on nutrition and lifestyle therapies to help you achieve your health goals through other means.
